Thyanta pallidovirens
Hi Ruth,
All the stink bugs I have seen which have this coloration and shape in California look like a good match for classification as T. pallidovirens and I have been moving them to that page. Please note, however, that I am not 100% sure as I don't know if there may be other look-alike species which also exist in the same range...

ID confirmed by D. B. Thomas: T. pallidovirens (Stål)

Neither.
Probably a species of Thyanta.
