Yes, that is Sphinx sequoiae. Very nice that you get that one. Sometimes if you put the moth in a jar and put them in freezer for about twenty minutes they will cool to the point that they cannot fly and can barely hang onto anything. Then you can put them anywhere you want for about five minutes and take a couple of nice photos. They revive quickly, though, sometimes in as few as five minutes. i do not have images of the larvae of that species, so if you get eggs and can rear them
and send pictures of larvae that would be great. Thanks for showing hind wings to confirm sequoiae. I wil post some of the images shortly.
