The US thing currently goes under this name, but Bates' type is from fairly far south in Mexico, so this may eventually end up under a different name currently in synonymy.

Please, do not move my entries to 'beetles'
nobody will find them there. If you are knowledgable and confident, move them to the genus or family they belong to - otherwise, leave them in id request.

http://bugguide.net/node/view/298899. I think it's quite reasonable to move images from ID Request to Beetles when they've gotten to page 115 and no comments have been made. Please take no offense - just trying to keep the number of ID Request pages to a reasonable number. :) There's every reason to think that our beetle experts check the Beetles pages and not only ID Request.
