Size: 15 mm
Ant that was crawling on a hollyhock. Many of these were all over the plant, mostly on the buds. Not sure what they were doing. Length is an estimate.

Looks likes
Camponotus castaneus
, rather dark image notwithstanding. This is typically a distinctly orangey red ant.
