I think this is a...
Convergent Lady Beetle (Hippodamia convergens). Looking through the images of these in BugGuide you will find various marking patterns on the elytra. This the only one I see with 'dots' rather than 'dashes' on the pronotum but that seems plausible to me (a non-expert)...

You sent me in the right direction, and after looking at other Hippodamia species, I'm thinking it looks more like a Variegated Lady Beetle. (Hippodamia variegata)
