I don't know what kind of bee
I don't know what kind of bees these are but there are many of them (as well as hornets, red wasps, paper wasps, large yellowjackets, honeybees, etc.) on our family farm. I've never been able to follow one back to a hive, nor have I ever been stung by one. You can imagine the surprise I got when I was seven, watching a "honey bee" with white instead of yellow-orange dig a hole in the ground and then hover in front of my face to check me out. I think they might be a type of leaf cutter bee.
