Tending Ants - Dorymyrmex bureni

Any thoughts on these treehopper tending ants?

Looks like Dorymyrmex bureni
Looks like Dorymyrmex bureni to me, a common open ground ant along the Gulf Coast, especially where the soils are dry and sandy.

Moved
Moved from Van Duzee Treehopper. Sorry for the double move. We had tagged all and moved both before we realized that these were probably different species. We're thinking they should probably be unlinked.

Ants
Anybody happen to know anything about the ants?

Ants
I recommend posting a copy of this image to Formicidae--the chances of someone who knows about ants seeing this image here are slim.

Moved from ID Request to Auchenorrhyncha for the moment, to see if Dr. Hamilton will comment.

Dr Hamilton just identified a similar
image as Vanduzea segmentata - Van Duzee Treehopper, but you may want to wait for his confirmation.

Most Definitely
"Tending ants" are such an interesting phenomenon to see first hand. BTW the plant is a dandelion. As with Paul Harvey, I'm looking forward to knowing the rest of the story.

The treehopper may be
a Cyrtolobus. Is that where you want this posted?
