Velvet Ant - Pseudomethoca spp? - Pseudomethoca simillima - female

Velvet Ant - Pseudomethoca spp? - Pseudomethoca simillima - Female
Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee, USA
June 14, 2009
Size: ~8-10 mm
I found this Velvet Ant on a Box Elder (Acer negundo) sapling. I didn't even realize that it was a Velvet Wasp until looking at BugGuide images. Can it be ID'd down to species?
