early instar satin moth? cherry dagger? - Oreana unicolorella

early instar satin moth? cherry dagger? - Oreana unicolorella
Strafford, Strafford County, New Hampshire, USA
August 31, 2005
Size: .5"
Found this guy cruising on my TV remote trying to change the channel to animal planet! Since it was not on a plant I do not know its needs. I tried cherry since that plant has been in the house lately - but not interested. Sort of reminds me of cherry dagger moth larvae and I know they change considerably each instar. The pattern is similar to satin moth Leucoma salicis but does not have the tufts. I.D. appreciated so I can feed it - for now I'll go collect a banquet!
