Beetle with problems - Xylobiops basilaris

Beetle with problems - Xylobiops basilaris
Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, USA
July 8, 2009
Size: ~ 6 mm
At MV lamp. I thought this beetle with the rugose tucked head and short posterior was interesting, and it was acting strangely. It was trying to rub off the massive infestation of parasites. I know how he felt, I had may beetles in every nook and cranny myself.
