Mutant alien?? - Dicromantispa sayi

Mutant alien?? - Dicromantispa sayi
DuPage County, Illinois, USA
July 5, 2009
Size: 40-45mm
Four days later, found inside patio cover. Now 40-45mm in length. Looks to me like a mantis/dragonfly hybrid. Notice the mantis-like arms, and their location at the top of the 'neck'(?)
I've recently hatched two egg cases of preying mantis and fear for their safety if more of these guys are around. Please ID if known. I have a few blurred pics of the larva before morphing, if they would help.
