Size: ~ 12 mm
Attracted to porch light. It is similar to , but the pronotum of this guy is shorter. My best guess is Xylopinus aenescens.

It's the first time
that I met this kind of a darkling beetle near night light other than under the bark.

 
I, on the other hand,
need to start looking under bark; I've never found a beetle there, but mostly because I haven't looked much. I started last week, but haven't found any yet.
