I came across the same color combination on a spent Buckwheat cluster this weekend so looks like the color variation might be common to the spiders who use the Buckwheat as a home.

It appears that this color variant may be common on those that are near Buckwheat as I came across one while hiking this weekend with similar coloring to the one you show and also on a spent Buckwheat cluster.
