Leafhopper, most likely Draeculacephala - Draeculacephala angulifera

Leafhopper, most likely Draeculacephala - Draeculacephala angulifera
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
August 19, 2005
Size: About 7 mm
I am pretty sure that this is in the genus Draeculacephala, but I am hoping someone (perhaps Andy Hamilton) can get it to species.

Moved tentatively
Moved from Sharpshooters.

crassicornis should be much stouter

Draeculacephala sp.
Probably a female D. angulifera, although 7 mm seems rather too small for this species. To be sure, you would need to capture the individual and do some detailed measurements. The key to these insects is in Hamilton, K.G.A. 1985. Review of Draeculacephala Ball (Homoptera, Auchenorrhyncha, Cicadellidae). Entomologische Abhandlungen, Staatsliches Museum für Tierkunde Dresden 49: 83-103.
