Explanation of Names
Author: Beutenmüller, 1907
Remarks
They occur on more than one species of goldenrod but mostly on Solidago altissima. These galls are usually heavily parasitized, and one of the common parasitoids is a species of Galeopsomyia (Eulophidae), which induces “a gall within a gall”, little black balls.
