Not surprising...
From the curator @ the U. of C., (he showed me the paper too) a number of new rhyparochromid species have been described recently (2009) from the west by Dr. Geoff Scudder (Lygaeoidea/Heteroptera guru at UBC) including a Trapezonotus. I can email you a pdf copy of the paper if you like.
Also a couple of new mirid species have recently been collected and described from southwestern Alberta.

the journal article is not available online..will have to bug the curator again for it :)
