Close, but no White Owl ...
although its face does resemble that of an owl! Mine might be a color variant, but I don't think so. The front legs don't have "conspicuous dark tufts of hair at the joints," among other differences. If it shows up again, I might collect it for further study.

I saw another one ...
but the one I saw tonight did have dark tufts of hair at the joints, so I'm convinced they were both Boxwood Leaftiers.
