range is from Southern Europe to Mongolia which roughly coincides with Baltimore's latitude.

Despite any differences of topography and climate, Baltimore shares a similar latitude with the Spanish island of Ibiza, the Italian island of Sardinia, with a long stretch of Turkey, through Armenia, Iran, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, then across a long stretch of China (near Beijing), across North Korea (not far from Pyongyang), and finally to the Japanese island of Honshu.
