It seems to be the only way I can find to keep the size reasonable... otherwise iPhoto usually seems to mess with the resolution and all that good stuff... bleh.

 
iPhoto gave me fits too.
I didn't like Aperture, either, and am now fairly comfortable Photoshop.

I need to get some of my software updated... Photoshop won't load right for some reason.
