Unk. Beetle - Tragosoma harrisii
Mt. Shasta ski resort, Shasta County, California, USA
July 12, 2009
Size: 30mm
This beetle came to MV/UV lights at 5200Ft. elev. on Mt. Shasta at about 11PM. It does not quite fit the pictures of Ergates spiculatus or Prionus californicus. Could someone who knows beetles give me a hand in identifying this beetle?

Longhorned beetle
This is a longhorned beetle in the Prioninae (of Cerambycidae), so you are close. The genus is Tragosoma, not positive which species it would be. Nice image, too.
