Manduca sp.? - Manduca

Manduca sp.? - Manduca
Tampa, FL, United States/Hillsborough County, Florida, USA
September 13, 2006
Size: about 2.5 to 3 inches
noticeably long tongue

Moved from Carolina Sphinx.

Need a better view of the forewing to be sure. Counting spots on the abdomen is not always accurate. The part of the hindwing is too blurry.

Moved from Manduca.

It is an interesting image of the long siphon,
but unfortunately, because of the angle of view, we don't think anyone will give you more information on this one and it will not be identified to species.

Manduca sexta
Manduca sexta, and thanks for the help J&J!

Moved from ID Request.

Awesome image, too.

Thank you Eric, that is very nice to say. that was taken before daylight in the morning. I couldn't believe he/she would let me get so close.
