americana has pointed palpi,
americana has pointed palpi, which this one doesn't have. However my experience is limited to Ontario (this was part of my 4th year thesis).

 
You are right, amaericanus ha
You are right, amaericanus has pointed palpi, but you can not see them here in the picture, what you see is the proboscis... The other character which points to americanus is that the last segments of the antenna are not covered with hairs....
