Hugo Peak trail. This one was flighty. Never got a dorsal shot, and it didn't even let me get very close just to get a good side or front shot.

So, does UC Davis have extension offices all over the state?? Bakersfield (lived there for two years) is a long ways from UC Davis (graduated from there).

I believe so
I know there are county extensions in almost every county in CA but I'm not sure if they're all through UC Davis, there may be other universities involved and there are some through the USDA. I've only been out here for a year so I'm still figuring out the complex world of CA :-P
