"No way from this angle to tell if it's ovata or the later-maturing
sibling, E. latimana, which is somewhat more likely because of the
smaller black dots on the abdomen."

It's a little difficult to see the little trapezoid pattern along the back in Lynette's specimen there, but if you look at some of the other images (especially the ones with the burgundy coloring on the back), you can see the little trapezoids quite clearly.
