Boat ramp bup - Lampetis cupreopunctata

Boat ramp bup - Lampetis cupreopunctata
World Birding Center at Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA
December 14, 2008
This critter perched briefly on a Phragmites stalk near the water's edge before flying off. My gut feeling is Dicerca, maybe D. lurida or obscura?

Lampetis cupreopunctata
I believed this is Lampetis cupreopunctata and sent it along to Rick Westcott and he agrees. Any guess what size it was?

medium-ish
It was a while ago, but to my recollection, it was decent-sized for a bup, decidedly larger than the Acmaeoderas. Smaller than L. drummondii, pretty sure. Maybe comparable to the neighborhood of a Chalcophora virginiensis, or thereabouts?
