One of the more suprising finds for me was this lone lace bug on the underside of a red alder leaf.

Moved from Corythucha.

Corythucha pergandei
Although the picture is small and some of the detail is not visible, the host plant helps with the ID. On the other hand, this species has not yet been recorded for Washington State, or on that species of alder. However, it occurs in British Columbia and it feeds on several other species of alder. If you run accross this species again, I would be very interested in having the actual specimen if you could collect it and mail it to me, so I can add it to the distribution list.

It does occasionally produce good images, but I miss just as many due to the autofocus feature.
