How would one tell this apart
How would one tell this apart from P. brachyrhynchus?

I think I erred, this indeed appears to be P. brachyrhynchus
The main character diagnostic character visible here is the amount of black on the frons...which I mistook to be entire in this oblique view, whereas on closer examination it appears to significantly grade into "pale" laterally, as in P. brachyrhynchus.

Two characters that can help separate P. bulbirostris and P. brachyrhynchus are: cheek color (entirely white in brachyrhynchus vs. brown-to-black posteriorly for bulbirostris); and the extent of the pollinose pleural stripe (which is restricted to the lower half of the pleura in bulbirostris). But neither of those characters can be discerned in a dorsal view like this one.
