Grasshopper to ID or confirm - Melanoplus sanguinipes

Grasshopper to ID or confirm - Melanoplus sanguinipes
Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
September 4, 2005
This color is definately different from the other two grasshoppers that I have photographed in the garden. I did have a juvie shorthorn ID'd by Eric and wondered if this was perhaps an adult. Any info would help, thanks.

Moved
Moved from Melanoplus.

Melanoplus sanguinipes
Coloration argues for this species, also the fact that there is another photo of this species (male) from this location as well. M. femurrubrum should have more even (less spotted) tegmina and no (or only a hint of) bars across outer side of hind femur.

Not a differential
Most likely a red-legged grasshopper. I forget the taxonomic name for that...

Differential?

Same but different:-)
Pretty sure Kildale's image is of a Melanoplus other than M. differentialis, but Melanoplus can only be reliably ID'd by the male genitalia.

Thank you both for your comments. I guess I'll leave the species open then.
