Orig. Comb: "Agonum (Rhadine) babcocki Barr, 1960" subsequently moved to new combination Rhadine araizai babcocki (Barr, 1960). For taxonomic key and descriptions of related species see Thomas C. Identification

Eyed member of the subterranea group. (Barr 1974)

[Actually I don't see Rhadine babocki listed with the "subterranea group" in Barr's 1974 article so this species could belong to another species group. Also, the posted image does not clearly show "eyes". -- P. Messer 8/23/2010]

Range

Known only from caves in the western Edwards Plateau of Texas:

Edwards County: Deep Cave; Punkin Cave; Wheat Cave; Wyatt Cave.

Pecos County: Ess Cave.

Sutton County: Caverns of Sonora; Felton Cave.

Terrell County: Blackstone Cave; Longley Cave; Pasotex Pit.

Val Verde County: Cave 8; Diablo Cave; Ladder Cave; Oberkampf Ranch Cave.
