Bumble Bee - Bombus impatiens - female

Bumble Bee - Bombus impatiens - Female

Size: 1/2 inch plus
At first I though this was a Bumble bee but it was too small. It looks like a bee, is it?

Bumble bee.
Worker bumble bees can be quite small. I have seen some that are barely bigger than a honey bee. This is not a carpenter bee because the face is hairy, and the pollen is adhered in a great glob to the virtually hairless pollen basket. In carpenter bees, pollen gathers in a dusty-looking mass in a very hairy brush on the hind legs.

Thanks Eric, I am so confused.
