Size: 6 mm.
More goldenrod gall fauna. This pupa is very different from previous ones, much longer and proportionally thinner. The gall is also different. It was a very active pupa, see the video.
More amazing to me is that the little black fragment near its rear end is not fecal matter, as I thought, but a head and remnants of a body. What is going on here? Can anybody guess?
