Horse Fly from poolside - Tabanus americanus - Female
Uxbridge, MA , Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
July 18, 2009
Size: about 30mm
This fly flew to the neighbor's pool. It was buzzing around for about a minute before it mistakenly alighted on my knee. I managed to stun it with a quick slap and then portaged the beast home to take a few shots. Admittedly it's not a fabulous photo, but, it might serve to identify it!
