Tachytes validus male, probably
Tachytes is a difficult genus to identify even when you have specimens but based on a combination of characters (distinct spines on tarsomeres, no hair tufts on last tergites, no silvery pubescence on scutum), locality and season (September!), Tachytes validus is a very good guess. This is the most common species of the genus in the northeast.

Thanks for the ID's
I was pretty sure about this one, but I know accuracy is important to the guide.
