Syrphid fly maggot
These maggots "have tail, will travel," to paraphrase an old TV Western series. I've found them in my dung beetle pitfalls where they apparently sized up their situation and pupated right away. They had to travel a ways to get there. About 30 ft., assuming they left the nearby giant cow dung pile for the richer aromas (can they smell??) emanating from my trap.
