Genus Libellula? - Libellula cyanea - Male
Columbia- Little Dixie Lake, Boone County, Missouri, USA
May 24, 2008
Size: around 45 mm
I'm not much good with dragon or damsel flies... This reminded me of numerous species inside Genus Libellula though... Yellow-Sided Skimmer maybe? Thanks for the help...

By the way- is this a male? Thanks.

Female spangled skimmer
This is a female spangled skimmer. Nice shot!

think it's a young male
Compare the appendages with this one. The young skimmers are really easy to overlook.

gotcha
Thanks a lot- Haha, I had a friend with me at this one and had to show off the whole bug picture thing... had some fun with that...
