Robber Fly - Laphria ventralis - female

Robber Fly - Laphria ventralis - Female
Elkton, Douglas County, Oregon, USA
July 20, 2009
Size: 23 - 25 mm
The whiskers say Robber Fly. The closest I could find in the guide is Laphria sericea, however that species seems to be an eastern species.

Any help to ID is appreciated.

In Oregon
This is likely Laphria janus. But I am not sure I can clear a couple of other species in atypical group 2. And what a fine shot.
