Green elfin - Callophrys affinis
Hot Sulphur Springs State Wildlife Area, Grand County, Colorado, USA

Moved from Callophrys.

looks like
Callophrys affinis ssp. affinis

See here for some good comparison photos.

The "greenies" are really frustrating, and I'm not sure the current resorting is better than old schemes. These seem to need a lot more work to sort them out completely. Luckily this particular one hasn't been fooled around with much.

C. "sheridanii" paradoxa is very similar, but this one looks browner on top than that subspecies, and that occurs in a very different environment (though not too far to the southwest). I am not convinced that paradoxa belongs with sheridanii, but that's another topic.
