Brown and Tan Spider... - Araneus

Brown and Tan Spider... - Araneus
Molena, Georgia, USA
July 11, 2009
Size: 2 inches
This little guy was climbing up a column on the front porch. Looks almost like small wolf spider?

Moved from Orb Weavers.

2 inches
How certain are you on the size? If you had to guess the length of the head & body only, what would you say?

2 inches
My recollection is that its head and body were about the diameter of a dime. So probably about an inch in length.

Moved from ID Request.

Not wolf -
adult male spider, maybe an orb weaver? Not sure of the family, though...

Cross Orbweaver - Araneus diadematus
Thanks. Kind looks like this guy.

I see a lot of those and that doesn't look quite right to me.
