Stink Bug - Euschistus obscurus

Stink Bug - Euschistus obscurus

Mr. V,
This is Stinky II. I put him in "time out.," aka frig, to get a ventral shot you said I needed for specific ID.

duly appreciated, Your Lordship!
pronotum resembles Euschistus ictericus, but the Gulf States may have similar spp. of which i'm unaware

Belly Looks Right
As you recommended a ventral shot for ID, I found a post showing the belly. The under chassis of this Florida specimen looks right.

While the pronotum lacks the reddish points, I have noticed that specimens having the red tips are all north of Carolina. Specimens from Texas, Louisiana and Florida all lack these tips. Perhaps these are a southern subspecies.
