Syrphid Fly - Eristalis

Syrphid Fly - Eristalis
San Isabel National Forest - Old Monarch Pass, Chaffee County, Colorado, USA
July 4, 2009

This looks like Eristalis obs
This looks like Eristalis obscura but is rather south of distribution records. The wing spots are rather faint and not as extensive as they usually are( but perhaps they could darken with age ).
Martin Hauser informs me that it looks like Nordic E. obscura but we are not sure and a name is still pending.
It is definitely not E.dimidiata which has the cell before the humeral crossvein dark ( usually black or brown ).

Eristalis sp.
Female, maybe dimidiata but that's not sure!
