Jeff G. knew the name of this beetle, but I have forgotten. If there are numerous photos in the guide, this photo can be frassed. I'm curious about those fuzzy bristles and that orange color on the leg.

This is when I manage to get good photos....
...when the subject stays perfectly still and there is adequate natural light.

BTW, be careful what buttons you push on your new camera. I'd been having a problem with a blue cast over all of my photos -- somehow I had managed to push buttons to change the white balance. I suspect it was when doing recordings of singing tree crickets in the dark.
