Green caterpillar - Cecrita guttivitta

Green caterpillar - Cecrita guttivitta
Brooker Creek Preserve, Pinellas County, Florida, USA
April 22, 2009
Looks kind of like the Variable Oakleaf Caterpillar Moth but I'm hesistant because I can't find another specimen in the guide with a) a red stripe in the eye band, b) no black hairs, and c) from Florida.

Moved from ID Request.

We would suggest instead a close relative
the Saddled Prominent, Heterocampa guttivitta. Wagner, pg 300, describes the face and yellow spot behind it with two red warts perfectly. The side line continues through A6 and breaks upward on A7. He also states the dorsal color is very variable and sometimes absent.
