Size: 6 mm
Adult, a few hours after eclose (emergence from the pupa). The elytra (wing covers) have hardened and the pattern is fully developed, but the color is pale grayish-yellow. In a few hours, it will be bright yellow.

This is a male, with a completely white "face" - on females, there's a dark mark in the center.

Prey: Aphid, Capitophorus hippophaes

Plant: Lady's thumb/smartweed (Polygonum sp.), the foodplant of C. hippophaes

And I knew I'd never find out what that mysterious green egg was if I didn't rear it to adult... I wasn't even sure it'd be a lady beetle when I collected it!
