Anyphaenid - Anyphaena fraterna - Anyphaena fraterna - female

Anyphaenid - Anyphaena fraterna - Anyphaena fraterna - Female
Durham, Durham County, North Carolina, USA
June 26, 2008
Size: 5.3 mm
Found in our wonderful Durham apartment; I originally assumed that this was A. celer. Platnick (1974) writes: "a distinctive species easily recognized ... by the female's epigynal plate being wider anteriorly than posteriorly". Bryant (1931) writes that the species is "distinctly spotted".
