Anna's Blue - Plebejus anna - male

Anna's Blue - Plebejus anna - Male
Gold Creek Pond (just E of Snoqualmie Pass on I-90), 2600 feet elevation, Kittitas County, Washington, USA
July 14, 2009
Shot in the same area within 18 minutes of three Anna's Blues, Plebejus anna (also posted), so that's likely what this is, but it's probably impossible to tell by the male's topside only. There was also one individual with a checked fringe, so the Anna's Blues didn’t have the meadow to themselves.

This male might be P. icarioides; I’m just supposing that it’s related to the others. Note: revised probable ID from Plebejus idas after David's refinement of the others' ID.

The flower appears to be Oxeye Daisy, Leucanthemum vulgare (non-native).

without seeing the underside, it's very difficult
to tell for sure. Odds are good that they're all the same. I think the others are indeed Northern Blues.

uncertain
David, thanks. It would have been nice to be able to put all four on the species page (big improvement over the two fine but lonely easterners), but I doubted they'd all make it.
