Assassin bug - Repipta taurus

Assassin bug - Repipta taurus
Lady Lake, Lake County, Florida, USA
September 7, 2005
I didn't know anything would eat Lovebugs. Came to blacklight.

I love this shot.
The thumbnail image at first glance reminded me of an unusual couple on the dance floor. On closer inspection the "stick figure" on the right appears to be wearing Babe Ruth baseball pants and is trying to imitate John Travolta's famous stance in Saturday Night Fever. Or maybe it's just trying to hail a taxi?

Thank you
Robin, you provided me with a needed good laugh with your comment, it's much appreciated.

Moved to species level
According to references in the guide page (Slater, How to Know the True Bugs, and Key to Florida Reduviidae), there should be just one species in Florida, Repipta taurus, so I've moved your image to that level.

Great spines
on the head and thorax!
