Gnophaela vermiculata? - Gnophaela vermiculata

Gnophaela vermiculata? - Gnophaela vermiculata
Santa Fe Ski Basin, near Santa Fe, Santa Fe County, New Mexico, USA
July 26, 2009
Size: 3-4 cm long?
These moths were everywhere in a meadow at about 10,500 feet (and common elsewhere in the area). This one is on Hymenoxys (syn. Helenium) hoopesii. BAMONA lists two Gnophaela species for the county, vermiculata and discreta. I gather the main difference is the hindwings. This is my best shot of the hindwings. Does it show them well enough to say the moth is definitely vermiculata?

....V. discreta is substantially different. (no rsvp, thanks)
