Unknown green caterpillar - Noctuidae? -

Found in the yard today, cannot nail down the id, looks like Noctuidae family, anyway. Has a slightly raised red spot on the posterior end.

We would suggest Notodontidae instead
and the Georgian Prominent, Hyperaeschra georgica, in particular. Nice find!

Yes!
Yes, quite obvious upon a look at Wagner's guide. I should remember to always peruse the Notodontidae when I am thinking Noctuidae.
Also, house is surrounded by oak.
