Cymindis cribricollis (Dejean 1831)
Keyed from Lindroth; species is characterized by broadly depressed sides of the pronotum and that the 1st antennal segment is longer than the 3rd.

Tim, with a good scope and Lindroth at your side you are fast becoming at BugGuide the carabidologist representative for the northwestern fauna. Now if we could only get someone to take on the mysterious southwestern carabids.

Challenging yes.
After weevils and rove beetles, ground beetles are the third most speciose beetle family of which genus
Bembidion
stands out with 30 pages (225 couplets) in Lindroth devoted to a key that is reliably applicable to just the species in the northern half of North America!

Thanks..will be safe at genus level for now. Probably either C. cribicollis or C. planipennis based on descriptions and images at the U of A. Entomology collection but will wait till I get Lindroth's book to confirm.

Tim, I mailed you a pdf copy of the book well over a week ago. Did you get it? Also this to V. Belov: E-mails I sent to you in past week regarding Mike Quinn's posting of Rhadine are bouncing back to me (twice). Is there a change in your e-mail address?
