Minute Pirate Bug -
Cardiastethus
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
July 26, 2009
Size: 1-2mm
This tiny fella was taxing the limits of my macro. My guess is a seed bug of some sort.

Not to say there isn't a oran
Not to say there isn't a orange Orius flitting but the colouration would be odd for any Orius I've seen. Obviously the size of this bloke is pretty minute so its hard to see some of the characters needed but I'd put a wager on Cardiastethus. POSSIBLY C. assimilis but that is based soley on distribution (from TX to FL and up into VA).
